It's begining to look alot like...

Christmas...well sort of.
Yes, I did let the girls put the Christmas Tree up. I had had it for 2 days and they were constantly bugging me to put it up. They had been really good so I let them as a reward.
They did a pretty good job. At first all the ornaments were centered towards the bottom.

(oh, my camera is still sort of broken so sorry about the blurry pictures)

Then Allie put one up high and realized that they needed some at the top so they started over and moved ornaments to the top. I only had to help a little bit. They did most of it on their own.

Austin has tests on Mon. and Tues. so he studied while we played Elvis' Christmas CD.

Almost finished

and Ta Dah.
I know there is some rule about not putting the tree up until after Christmas but here are my justifications...
1. Thanksgiving is supposed to be on the 3rd Thursday which was this week right... so if Thanksgiving was when it is supposed to be my tree would already be up.
2. It is still 80 something degrees here so I needed something to make it feel like Christmas is coming. (were all in shorts for crying out loud)
3. They already have the Christmas decorations up on the island because they don't really celebrate Thanksgiving.
4. It is not as busy before Thanksgiving, so I could just take my time and enjoy putting up the tree. I didn't have to squeeze in a day to do it.
5. With Austins last tests coming up we really need a time to relax and the best thing is ... the sparkling lights of the tree and listening to Christmas music.

Don't feel bad, I've been listening to Christmas music since before Halloween and we put up our huge tree last weekend. Plus right after Thanksgiving dinner is done we're gonna put the rest of Christmas up

rules schmules, I say put it up when you have time and want it up. I put mine up on thursday and i'm so glad that it is all done before I have josh's family here for thanksgiving. It looks pretty. I'm sure that being in 80 degrees does tend to throw off your usual Christmas feel.

Looks good, I have mine up, just not decorated yet. I'm hoping to get that done within the next day or two. How weird is it though to have it be hot like it is? Just wondering. Hope all is well!

I LOVE your tree and the decorations! We have a tiny little tree that we are going to put up. Where did you get those cute decorations? Can I burn the Elvis Christmas CD!? Also, what were you planning on doing for Christmas cards? We thought of a cute idea that involves a Christmas tree and the beach... Let me know if you want details.

I think it's great that you put it up. A year ago, I would have balked at the idea, but something about having a child makes Christmas so exciting!
