January Recap

January always starts off for us with the New Year's Fairy. Austins mom comes from Danish heritage and they have a tradition that on New Year's eve you leave your shoes out by the fireplace and the New Year's Fairy will leave you a small gift in them. It is a tradition that Austin's family always did and I love that we are carrying this tradition with our kids.

Austin had to leave January to start his clinical rotations. He transferred to a school called Ross and he had to start them in Miami because they would do  2 days of class and 3 days in clinic. He had to be there for 3 months :( After the three months they assigned him to a permanent place to finish the remainder of his clinical rotations. The girls and I stayed in Beaver since the Miami thing was only 3 months. That way they could also finish out the school year. It was so hard to let him go! I don't do well when we are apart but somehow we survived it.
The second half of January was the girls and I adjusting to life without Austin. I became in charge of the wood burning stove. A little scary, especially with me being a tad bit accident prone. I had a few incidents but nothing serious. We pretty much just got in a routine where the girls would go to school, I would pick them up, we would go home, let them relax, do homework, eat dinner, go to bed, and start the process all over again. I pretty much became a hermit. lol.
This is of the snowman Austin and Allie built before he had to leave. I can't remember what they named it but it sure was cute.
So long January
