Christmas, a Birthday, and New Years, oh my!

We had a great Christmas here in Cayman. Christmas eve Austin went surfing with his friend David. He had a small accident and in the process of saving the surf bored he stepped on some sea urchins and has about 25 spines in his feet. (Yeah, that was real fun to dig out of his feet) That night we went over to our friends the Hernandez's house. We had a wonderful dinner and then FiRewOrkS!!! Allie of course loved them and had a great time. Kaity (who is scared of fireworks) hid in the house the whole night, entertaining people with her stories.
Then we went home to get ready for Santa. The girls set out a popcorn ball and milk for Santa and then hung their stockings. I let them open one present that was under the tree already. Allie opened a Hannah Montana guitar from Grammy, and Kaity opened a pair of dress up shoes from Pucca (my brother Kade's cat).
Then it was off to bed for the girls, and to work for Austin and I...picking sea urchin spines out of his feet until 2 a.m. Santa did make it to our house this is the before picture. I wish I had got a after picture because it looked like a bomb went off in my living room.
The girls were so much fun to watch this year. They got so excited about each gift they opened. There was squealing, jumping up and down, smiles, and lots of thank yous. It was my favorite part of Christmas.

Then we went to sister Black's house for breakfast. She is a awesome cook and it was wonderful. She even had home made cinnamon rolls, which I was so glad about since we missed having Janice's delicious cinnamon rolls this year. Our stomachs had just settled and we went to a late lunch at Bro. and Sis. Robinson's house. They have a beautiful home and it felt like, and smelled like Christmas. The food was again wonderful. We had a great time surrounded by good friends.

The 26th was a big day for us...Austin turned 30!!!! He had a good Birthday. We went on the Jolly Roger pirate ship. He has been wanting to do that since we were her last January.

Allie was very excited but Kaity was a little leery. She wasn't sure if they were good or bad pirates.
The water was absolutely beautiful. It was the prettiest electric blue color. The coast of Cayman is also very pretty.

oh, what a sweet hubby I have. This is the number 2 guy at Microsoft's yacht. It was amazing. The pirates pulled up by it and fired the cannons in it's direction. Then teased with them to get a real boat.
Then the pirates put on a little show with all the kids. They had all of then come down and checked them for ticks and cavities. Every so often they would draw their sword and threaten to cut out the cavities. Kaity was scared and only stayed down there with me and Allie for a minute.
This is the main pirate guy he did a really good job. He then gave all the kids a scrub brush and had them scrub the deck. Allie was okay for a minute, then they got a bucket of water and dumped it on some of the kids. Allie got a little water on her leg and started to cry.
Austin enjoyed himself, which is what I wanted. Then the main pirate came up to Austin and asked him for his help. He told him to empty his pockets. Then he tied him up to the main mast and said he was caught committing treason. Allie and Kaity were scared and crying but Austin assured them he was fine. Then the pirate got a big bucket of water and put a bunch of ice in it. He then told Austin he would be asked 3 questions; if he got them right he would be set free, if not he would be punished. He asked his first question which was "what is the number I am thinking of between 1 and 10." Austin got it wrong so the pirate dumped some of the ice water over his head. Then he asked him the same question, Austin again got it wrong. He got more water dumped on him. Then the pirate said "this is your last chance, I am going to ask you one more question and the answer is yes." I can't remember what the question was but Austin answered yes, but the pirate had to finish the bucket of ice water anyway. Allie thought that was funny and finally started to laugh. I was so mad right when the pirate got Austin tied up the battery in my camera died so I didn't get any pictures. Then we stopped at a good spot to snorkel and you could jump off the top level of the ship, or off the plank. Allie and Kaity jumped off the plank. (well they got to the end and Austin pushed them) It was a lot of fun and the girls ended up having fun to. When we got home I helped set Austin up so the Missionaries could get him with flour. (it's a birthday tradition thing here)
That night we went to dinner with our friends Walter and Ondinna Hernandez. The food was great. Then we went to see the movie 7 Pounds. I really liked it. Austin had a good 30th Birthday. (I love you babe Happy Birthday!)

These were just some cute pictures that I got of the girls at Margaritaville.

New Years eve we went to my friend Shalynna's pool and Austin had fun with the girls letting them surf on this little float bored. I was a wuss and only stayed in the water for a minute. The sun was covered by clouds and I am a wimp.
New Years Eve Night we went to the Hernandez's house again for a wonderful dinner and fireworks. We barely made it until midnight. (How old are we?) Allie and Kaity even made it to the count down. Then we went home and went to bed. New Year's day we went to the beach and had fun. We hope that all our friends and family have a wonderful 2009!! We miss you all!
