I can't believe I'm doing things like this 3 days before Christmas.

Last Friday we went to go to the Turtle Farm, but when we got there we decided that it was too windy and we would freeze if we went swimming. They just opened this new Swimming with Dolphins exhibit right across the street from the Turtle Farm so we went to see the prices and check it out. It is pretty expensive to swim with the dolphins, but you can go and watch them swim for free. The girls loved it!!! It was so cool just to be able to watch them. I didn't get too many good pictures because when they would swim by us I forgot all about the camera and just watched them.

They have six dolphins. We decided that we definitely want to swim with them sometime before we leave the island. We get a resident rate that is quite a bit cheaper and when will we have a chance like this for a cheaper price again. So some day I will have a awesome post about that but not today.

We did make it to the Turtle Farm on Monday. The girls were so excited. We came once before but I forgot to bring my camera so I didn't get any pictures. I think this is Allies favorite place (because they have a pool she can swim in) and she has been begging me to go back since. When you first go in they have this big pool like area with a beach where the breading turtles are. They lay the eggs on the beach and the workers go and dig them up and put the eggs in a hatchery and then when they hatch they put them in smaller pools to grow. This was the best picture I had of a larger turtle and this one was not very big. They have probably have about 100 of them in this area. The largest one weighs 575 pounds!!

Here is Austin and the girls watching and learning all about the sea turtles.
Then we moved on to the Predator Reef. Which is a reef in a pool that they have some sharks and more aggressive fish in. They have a glass viewing area below the tank so you can go see the sharks better. Kaity said this is the "daddy shark". None of the sharks they have are really dangerous. They are all basically sand sharks but it is still cool to see them and watch how graceful and quick they are in the water.

Here is Austin getting a close look at a brown shark.
They have 2 nurse sharks that mostly lay at the bottom of the tank and 2 brown sharks that swim around this is a pretty cool picture of both the brown sharks.

This is a sea turtle that is a predator. They told us that the barracuda and this turtle are the most dangerous predators they have in this tank. This turtle has a really sharp pointy beak and is quite aggressive. Allie and Kaity really liked the turtle though.

The bird aviary place was sort of lame this time we went. The last time we were there they were feeding the birds and so we got to feed the birds and hold some of them. Kaiy tried to catch this bird but it knew she didn't have any food and it ran away from her.

We went and swam in the pool area for a few hours. Allie put on her snorkel and she just swam and swam. They also have a salt water lagoon that you can snorkel in but we didn't snorkel in it. We wanted to but just never did. Then right before we had to go we went to the little pools they raise the baby turtles in. You can pick them up and hold them.

Then these Tour guides that I had been talking to came over to us and they told us they have a special treat for us. They took us over to the tanks they keep the little tiny new baby turtles. They got some out and let us hold them. They don't usually let people hold them so it was really awesome. This is Kaity holding one.

Allie held one of the little ones which is huge for her. The last time we were there she would barely touch the turtles. I didn't get a picture of her holding it because I was helping her and I was too afraid that she would freak out and drop it. She did a really good job holding it though and really liked it. Kaity named the one she is holding here Flowers.

The little ones we were holding were about 5 weeks old and they were just a little bit bigger than my hand. This was my favorite part of the day.

After we left the Turtle Farm we went home and our friends David and Shalynna Crandel came over for family home evening. We made tin foil dinners. We went up to the north side of the island and made a fire on the beach and ate our tin foil dinners. This is David and Shalynna they are such a cute couple and so much fun to hang out with.
I really had a lot of cute pictures here at the beach but my computer is uploading pictures so slow today and I was getting frustrated so I didn't post many of them. Here are the girls eating their dinner. They were so yummy, we all decided that we should do this once a month.

I had to put this picture on because this is how Austin was the whole night. He did a good job getting the fire going, and cooking our dinners.
Then we has smores!!! Yummy! They tasted so good. They also work really good here because of the humidity. It makes the gram sort of soft so when you bit into the smore the gram doesn't just break up and crack.

Then we went back to our house and watched the old Disney movie Something Wicked This Way Comes. It was okay I was expecting it to be scary but it really wasn't. Then we talked and told stores of growing up and laughed a lot. We had a really long and fun day. It is really weird to me that I am doing things like this 3 days before Christmas.
