Allie's Animal drawings and hurrican Gustav!!

Okay, so this is sort of silly of me but it's a mom moment that I just want for my record. Today I was cooking dinner and Allie came in with her dry erase board and she said "Look I drew a deer'' and I could actually tell it was a deer. She has been drawing people for a while and they are really good, but she hasn't really tried to draw many animals. Then she drew a cat and a dog and they sort of looked a lot alike but you could tell what they were. So I was just proud of her. She is getting so big it really makes me sad, but I love to see her be able to do big stuff now.

Just for record also we are preparing for our first hurricane. It is hurricane Gustav. They didn't think it would come near Cayman but today it took a turn south and it was projected to go right over us. It's path had shifted a little to the north and will most likely pass in between the little Cayman Islands and Grand Cayman. They think it will be a cat 1 possible a cat 2. We should be Okay. The apartment that we live in withstood Ivan which passed directly over the island and was a cat 5. It only lost a few shingles, so we are not worried about damage. I just hope our car doesn't get hit by any flying debris. The power will most likely go out along with the water. Hopefully it won't be out long. Well maybe I will get some cool video and pictures. What an adventure.
