It's begining to look a lot like Christmas...

Last night we took the girls to the Christmas Tree lighting at Camana Bay. The girls were so excited to see the huge Christmas Tree.

It was so fun to finally feel a little Christmas here. In Utah the weather is a reminder everyday that Christmas is soon, but when you are at the beach and it is 85 degrees outside it is sometimes hard to remember that it is so close. They had a program with a bunch of different groups that were singing Christmas Carols. I loved it.

Finally, after what felt like forever.... well to my girls it was forever. Santa showed up to light the tree.

I wasn't going to let the girls sit on Santa's lap because there were so many kids. We were right up front by the podium and once Santa showed up the crowd rushed in and we were smashed up just a few kids from the front. I wasn't sure if we would even be able to make our way out of the crowd...our best shot of getting out alive was through Santa. I swear some people though, this lady (that didn't speak English) was trying to move through the crowd of people. She got next to me and pointed across like she was trying to get to the other side, so me being polite tried to move back a little so she could get past. Well, she didn't keep going she just stepped right in front of me and my kids. I was so mad. Then she was telling her boy (who was about 10-12 years in age) to come up where she was. He was so embarrassed that he wouldn't and kept saying "No". I would have told her off but she didn't speak English and even if she could understand it she would have pretended that she couldn't. So, ha ha ha ha I had my girls go up in front of her and the first chance I got pushed past her. I just couldn't believe this lady.

It was finally our turn and the girls were so thrilled to see Santa.

Once we got clear of the massive crowd I noticed that they had snow machines blowing snow down from the buildings. When Allie saw it she pointed and said "mom it's our Utah snow". The girls and I went running towards it to play (yes, I was as bad as the kids). When we got close enough I realized it wasn't really snow it was actually foam but it looked just like snow, and held up better in the 80 degree weather. I don't think Kaity noticed it wasn't real snow. We had to force her to leave but she had a good time chasing "snowflakes" for a while.

Grammy/Mom said...Wow! I've never seen such huge ornaments! So funny for them to see themselves in them. Was Santa hot in that red suit? I sure wish we could come visit. But glad y'all will be back in April. You can just continue to tell us all about how great it was not to be freezing Dec, Jan, and Feb. I hope to be able to make it through this year. Love you so much! Mom

lol, mom I did feel bad for santa it was hot enough for me to sweat a little I can only imagine how Santa felt. The Commentator guy was in a suit and tie and he was dripping. Kind of funny to be sweating when you are doing Christmas stuff outside.

I'm glad Grammy said "I've never seen such huge ornaments", cause that is what I have been fighting saying ever since I saw those pictures, just not in those words... Ha haha. I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy. Oh dear.
