Dolphin Cove and lots of fun

This first part of the post is for Haydyn. One of our neighbours is a paramedic but as a side job he drives a limousine on the weekends. We see the limo all the time but he is usually in his house. The other night we were outside and he came out. The girls asked if they could see inside his fancy car. (well Kaity asked, Allie was too shy)
Here is Kaity checking out the fancy glasses and Allie pretending she is a princess.

The girls had a great time inside the limo. They though they were pretty hot stuff.

Next, we have some friends (who are medical students) that are leaving the island in about a week. Allie and their little girl have become good friends and so we met with them on Monday to let the kids play before they have to leave. They opened a new swim with dolphins exhibit here a few months ago and so we went to check it out just to see the dolphins swim. We ended up getting quite a show and a lot of fun information on dolphins. The dolphin trainers were just starting to feed the dolphins when we got there and then when the dolphins were done eating they started to jump and show off. The kids were so excited and were clapping and screaming it was so much fun. I think my friend Angie and I enjoyed it even more than the kids.
After the trainers went inside the dolphins were just swimming around in the lagoon. Two of the trainers came out and started to talk to us and tell us all about the dolphins. It was so interesting. We learned all about the dolphins. What a great field trip for Allie hu?
Here are the kids with the trainers.
As we were leaving the trainers asked if we had been over to the nature trail. We hadn't so they walked us across the street and there was a bird trainer over there and some little paths through the trees to the parking lot. In the trees they have all sorts of macaws and parrots.
The trainer got one out of the tree and let us hold it. Kaity was too small to hold a macaw and Allie was too scared so I got to hold it.

Kaity did get to hold the African Parrot. She though that was so cool. The trainer let her feed a few of the birds and the rest of the time she was bugging him to let her feed just one more bird.

Here are all the kids with the bird trainer and our friends are Seth and Alyssa.

As if that wasn't enough fun we then took the kids over to Caymanna Bay and let them play in the fountain. They ran and played in the water for about and hour and a half.
The next day we went to the park with our other friends Chantell and Stihl. Then got the kids treats for the car ride home.

There have been a few times here on the island that have been a little frustrating just because of the different culture and other things. However, the other night after we went to see the dolphins I was reflecting on our day as I cooked dinner. I got thinking how grateful I am that we get to live here and gain this experience. I am even grateful to experience some of the frustrating things ( I think). I got thinking about the things my kids have got to do that most kids never get to experience. I really do love living here and our time here is flying by. I can't believe we have been here for 8 months and now only have a year until we will be back in the U.S. I have learned so many things and gained such a different perspective of things getting to live here. There are so many different people here from different cultures. I have made some wonderful friends and acquaintances from all over the world and have gotten to learn of their cultures, and traditions. I even learned the other night how to make some curry chicken and Roti. (It is India food, I was pretty proud of myself, haha) Even as hard as it is at times to homeschool the girls I am grateful for that as well. I am so lucky to be able to see when my kids learn something new. We have grown so much closer as a family and for that I am so grateful.

Sorry, Corynn if this is too sugar coated you will get some complaining posts in a few months when it is stinking 100 degrees with 95% humidity.

Hahaha! You wrote this post awhile ago and I'm just now seeing it. I'm slack'n. I know what your talking about getting to know other cultures. I love that! Sometimes it is frustrating. But really no different than just getting used to anything new. (Like a small town) I actually really liked this post. It's kinda deep. You shared some really good thoughts and I enjoyed it. It makes me miss you.
